Over-communication happens on a daily basis. For instance, if you're in the office, you might already who is working on, what are the blockers. Visual cues, small talks, etc., really help there. Working remote, and async, every need to be explicit about it, specially if you're in a different time zone and someone else need to continue working on your task or unblocking it somehow, for example.
